Indiana's wage laws became even more employer friendly, effective today, July 1, 2015. If you are an Indiana employee, here is what you need to know about the wage law amendments.
1. The Indiana legislature decided to make it easier for employers who do not pay their employees correctly. Under the old law, employers who owed unpaid wages were subject to a mandatory penalty of 10% per day for each day the amount of wages went unpaid. Under the new law, employees have to prove the employer acted in "bad faith" or there is no penalty assessed against the employer.
