The long awaited new FLSA overtime rules will be issued on tomorrow. Under the new rules, which take effect on December 1, 2016, the salary threshold will double from $23,660 per year to $47,476. The Department of Labor estimates that the new rules will extend overtime protections to an additional 4.2 million American workers, including employees in North Carolina and Indiana. The Department of Labor also estimates that American workers will see an additional $12 billion dollars in pay over the next 10 years.
